Miranda Taylor Cosgrove was born on May 14, 1993 in Los Angeles, California, to parents Tom and Chris. At the early age of three, Miranda was spotted dancing and singing by an agent in a restaurant and was soon asked to star in her first roles in television commercials. In 2001, Miranda guest starred as Lana Lang in the pilot episode of “Smallville.”

In 2003, Miranda got her big break as Summer Hathaway in Jack Black’s “School of Rock” and discovered her love for rock music – soon taking up the guitar. And in 2004, Miranda joined Nickelodeon legend Dan Schneider’s “Drake & Josh” as Megan Parker.
Miranda joined Dan Schneider once again starring in the ever-popular “iCarly” as Carly Shay – the internet show star. The show is currently in its fourth season and its fifth season will begin filming next year.
A great fan of music and performing, Miranda has released two EPs and the album “Sparks Fly” and has toured the world with her music. Recently, Miranda had to cut her “Dancing Crazy Summer Tour” short due to a bus accident that broke her ankle. Fortunately, Miranda is fast recovering and is said to have see life in a better light after the frightening accident.
