New “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” Toys & Nickelodeon Series Coming Fall 2012

Nickelodeon’s new CGI “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” series will premiere this fall and a sneak peek episode is expected to air after the Kids’ Choice Awards. A new toy line by Playmates Toys will support the show, hitting stores in the fall.

Check out a preview of the toys below, which feature great new designs for Splinter and April and individual designs for Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Raphael.

New CGI “Franklin And Friends” Premieres On Nickelodeon February 13th, 2012

Franklin the turtle is back in an all new CGI series “Franklin and Friends” – premiering February 13 at 9:30am ET on Nickelodeon. The series originally debuted on Canadian TreehouseTV in March of 2011 and features many of Franklin’s friends from the original stories like Bear, Fox, Rabbit, Beaver, Goose, Skunk, and Snail, and his baby sister Harriet, as well as some new ones, like Franklin’s Aunt. T and Officer Rabbit (a female police officer).

Sounds like fun!

Nigel Thornberry Stars In Disney Films – Meme

So last summer the character Nigel Thornberry from Nickelodeon’s “The Wild Thornberrys” exploded into popularity (especially due to his voice) as an internet meme. Now, he’s been steadily growing into an icon as fans edit his face over cartoons (often Disney films like “Beauty and the Beast”) and create hilarious .gif files on tumblr.

Still no release date for Nickelodeon’s “Avatar: The Legend of Korra.” But, there is this awesome chase scene featuring a great look at Republic City, the show’s soundtrack and feel, comedy, and Korra and Naga kicking butt.

No More SpongeBob Video Games From THQ

After years of making games for franchises like “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Kung Fu Panda,” “Scooby-Doo,” and Pixar’s “Cars,” video game developer THQ recently announced that it is pulling out of the children’s games market. THQ is expected to focus on intellectual property and next generation games as well as their strongest core adult titles like “Saints Row,” “Darksiders,” “UFC,” and “Metro.”

That’s sad news for children and adults alike who enjoy the family titles.
