Nick News With Linda Ellerbee Special “Kids Pick The President: The Candidates” 2012
This years Nick News With Linda Ellerbee special “Kids Pick The President: The Candidates” will air on October 15, 2012 on Nickelodeon at 8pm. During the special viewers will be able to watch as the presidential candidates answer viewer questions with Linda Ellerbee, and afterward viewers will have the opportunity to vote for who they think should be the next president at www.nick.com/kpp.
While Barack Obama appears in the special, Mitt Romney does not. Nickelodeon explains:
Nick News traveled around the country videotaping kids asking the candidates questions. This year’s special features President Barack Obama who sat down with Nick News at the White House to answer kids’ questions. After numerous attempts by Nick News to get former Governor Mitt Romney to participate in the special, his camp declined saying he was unable to fit it into his schedule. The special features previously taped video clips of Romney addressing some of the issues raised in the questions as well as bios of both candidates.
Lindaa Ellerbee shared her disappointment with Mitt refusing to be a part of the special, stating:
By answering kids’ questions directly, candidates show respect for kids. We are disappointed that Mitt Romney wouldn’t take the time to answer the questions, but are thrilled that President Obama participated in the special.

NO, we will not be watching. Maybe if Nickelodeon had shown some respect to Mrs Romney and Mrs Ryan after Jason Biggs vile, vulgar tweets I would think differently. Maybe Ms Ellerbee would have gotten a different response also. The condemnation of the actor’s vulgar tweets was too little and too late. All things Nick are no longer watched in my home…
