Nickelodeon is celebrating its Worldwide Day Of Play on October 6, 2012 this year! All of the network’s channels will go off the air that day, including:

Nick Jr.
TeenNick

This initiative was put in place 9 years ago to encourage viewers to go outside and play!

At 5pm Nickelodeon will premiere a new special titled “I Play Because.” The special will go into detail about how kids around the world celebrated the Worldwide Day Of Play this year. The special will be hosted by Nickelodeon stars as well as the following celebrities:

Michelle Obama
David Beckham
Nastia Liukin
Apolo Ohno
