Matt Bennett Writes A Letter To His Fans About The End Of Nickelodeon’s “Victorious”

August 18, 2012 |  by

Matt Bennett wrote a letter to his fans about the end of his Nickelodeon show “Victorious.” Read the note below, and be sure to share your thoughts in the comments section!

“Wrote this on the plane the other day, hope it helps:

Today is a sad day indeed. As I’m sure you’ve all heard by now, Victorious will not be returning for a fourth season. While I am deeply disappointed about this, I understand Nickelodeon’s decision and feel, in it’s own strange way, it may be for the best.

How, you may ask, could this be for the best? Victorious was my favorite TV show and now it’s gone forever! Oh contraire, I say. Victorious is not gone forever.

In fact, there is still a whole lot of Victorious to come. We have 15 episodes of the third season left to air, one of which I’m confident will fit in as a great finale episode. We also have a new video game, probably another album, and, of course, a lot more Figure It Out, so you’ll still be seeing our faces every day.

Secondly, I’m very proud of the point we are ending at. If you think about it, we’re finishing the show while we’re still on top. Two Emmy nominations, a Kids Choice Award for Favorite TV Show, and being Nickelodeon’s highest rated show? That seems like a win to me.

We’re lucky to have the chance to end on such a high note. Most shows don’t even get as far as we did.

And lastly, before anyone goes and starts blaming people, know that it was no one persons fault the show is ending. It was just time for all of us to move on.

Think of it this way. You now have time to catch up on all the other cool shows that are on TV right now. Have you been watching Louie? It’s like Victorious x 1000. And Breaking Bad still has a season to go. Get on that!

I was very lucky to be a part of this show. I think it’s pretty evident how great a time I, and the cast, had making it. And all of the things I learned! Knowledge I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else.

I have so many memories from the past three years I’ll never forget. We were given so many great opportunities and once-in-a-lifetime moments. I got to work with some of the best people in the world. The whole experience changed my life and the way I see the world for the better, and really helped boost the confidence of an awkward kid from New York. It was a whirlwind, that’s for sure, but now that I can see clearer I’m more excited than ever for the future.

To the people who followed Victorious from the beginning, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I hope you had as much fun on the journey as I did. But, as all things, Victorious was just the start of a much bigger adventure.

I’d like to thank the cast, to thank Dan Schneider, and the rest of Schneider’s Bakery for everything. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Thanks again guys, go outside. Read a book or something.

  1. I’m sooo sad victorious is ending! They always made me laugh when I was sad, they will always be in my heart forever, also my friend Anna is as sad as me, good bye victorious!

  2. The cancelation is bad for Nickelodeon, because they don’t have so many good sitcoms: Bucket and skinner isn’t to bad, but it isn’t the leading sitcom, and the FRED:the show was more interesting online, it’s not for TV. Nickelodeon better renew Victorious — in few months there wouldn’t be a leading show
