This morning, some information got out that, if true, would be HUGE. According to the fan twitter @1DUpdates, the UK band One Direction is expected to guest star in the sixth season of “iCarly” in an episode called “iGot Jungle Worms” where they will perform “What Makes You Beautiful.”
There is no official word on whether this is fact or simply rumor, but based on their schedule, it is possible. One Direction will be flying to the United States on February 1st and begin touring with Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush on their “Better With You” Tour on February 24. That leaves some room for exploring the country, meeting fans, holding interviews, and … filming an episode of “iCarly.”

One direction? On iCarly? This may be the worst idea I’ve ever heard. That isn’t the right way to get them exposed in America because then all of their fans will be 10 years old. These boys aren’t like disney stars, they’re real teenage boys. They cuss, they talk about sex and boobs, they do normal guy things. They aren’t trying to keep a squeaky clean image like Justin Bieber or the Jonas Brothers.. They’re just trying to be themselves. Once these little kids start looking up to them, what are they going to do? Change who they are or be labeled as bad role models? I have no idea what their management is thinking and I know that as a Directioner I don’t want their first concerts here to already be filled with children and people who don’t even know all the words to 3 of their songs. I’ve been working so hard in a contest to bring them to my city and I don’t want my time to go to waste because directionators bought the tickets before me. And that’s all this show is going to do- create directionators. I wish their first fans could be rewarded before the boys do something like this. I’m going to be completely truthful with what I’m about to say. I found out about one direction a week ago because one of my friends went to England and heard about them there. But the thing is I’m already obsessed, and over the course of this week, I’ve probably watched over half of the videos about one direction on youtube, and honestly I would like to consider myself a directioner, a new directioner but a directioner never the less. I love Liam, Niall, Harry, Zayn and Louis, not just because they are hot (even though they so are), but because they are hilarious, talented guys who aren’t afraid to be themselves.
I think icarly is a great show, even though I don’t watch it as mush as I used to, but even if it does have some older people in its fan base like, it does have some 8-11 year olds as well. And although I am happy, one direction will be getting more fans in the US, I don’t want those fans to be 10 year olds who will be shocked to hear one direction having conversations about boobs and other things that 18-20 years old boys are perfectly able to talk about. I don’t want them to change, and become this disney-esque band and not be able to be the boys all of us directioners know and love. And although I know my comment won’t stop them from going on the show, I do hope it and others let the boys know that we love who they are and don’t want them to change and not be able to be themselves any more.
Let’sst all ju be happy that one direction is doing this? okay? They deserve this. Put yourselves in their shoes. After all, wouldnt you love to be asked to be on..like.. a UK t.v. show?
