Nick News – “What Happened?: The Story Of September 11, 2001″ Airs September 1st
At 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on Thursday, September 1, Nickelodeon will air a special episode of Nick News with Linda Ellerbee titled “What Happened?: The Story of September 11, 2001.” The program will recount the terrorist attacks of 9/11, helping those who did not live through it to understand how they affected our world today.
The program will feature first-hand accounts from adults who witnessed the events:
Lucas: A 10-year-old who watched the towers fall, one block away from his home.
Magee: An 11-year-old who was evacuated from her home five blocks away from the World Trade Center and had to dodge debris.
Alexis: A 7-year-old whose father was one of the first responders.
Sarah: A 14-year-old whose sister was a passenger on United Airlines flight 93.
Jamie: A 7-year-old who was in the second grade classroom where President Bush first learned of the attacks.
Also included will be experts who will help answer questions on the events:
Aaron Brown: Principle anchor for CNN’s 9/11 coverage
Ari Fleischer: Former White House Press Secretary under George Bush
Juliette Kayyem: Former Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security
Tom Kean: Chairman of the 9/11 Commission
Akbar Ahmed: American University’s Chair of Islamic Studies
Bruce Hoffman: Georgetown University Professor and author of Inside Terrorism
