“Victorious” star Victoria Justice and “Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures” star Ashley Argota have joined the Love Is Louder movement, started by Brittany Snow and The Jed Foundation and popularized by Seventeen and Demi Lavato. The movement promotes the message that “love is louder than the pressure to be perfect.”
Victoria and Ashley are joined by other stars like Miley Cyrus and Caroline Sunshine in the goal. On Seventeen, the girls have taken pictures of themselves promoting the message.
Drake Bell, the 25 year old star of Nickelodeon’s “Drake and Josh,” “The Amanda Show,” and the upcoming live-action “The Fairly OddParents” movie “A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner,” digitally released his new EP “A Reminder” in the United States, Canada, and Latin America yesterday. The EP is made up of four tracks and, while it has been years since Drake released new music, the four songs couldn’t be more of a treat for die-hard fans or new ones.
2. You’re Not Thinking
3. Big Shot
4. Speak My Mind
Clocking in at around 14 minutes, “A Reminder” sounds just as good the first time around as it does the tenth. “Terrific” starts the album off with a powerful, caring tone similar to Rufus Wainwright’s. “You’re Not Thinking” then takes a happier, more upbeat turn with a motown feel with bass saxophone and backing lyrics. “Big Shot” is a bouncy piano tune that ramps up with guitar solos and backing horns. Finally, “Speak My Mind” shines with its layered voice tracks, reminiscent of Freddie Mercury in Queen.
Through every song, Drake’s voice and guitar playing are great. “A Reminder” is the perfect summer album and gives us a glimpse of what the future may hold for Drake.
