This Tuesday, “Victorious” star Ariana Grande’s brother, Frankie Grande, landed in Johannesburg, South Africa. The 25 year old actor, dancer, producer, and biology major starred as Boots in the Equity production of “Dora the Explorer Live!” and made his Broadway debut in “Mamma Mia!” While acting in “Mamma Mia!” Frankie helped found Broadway In South Africa, a non-profit organization that brings professional artists to South Africa as performers and teachers.
In the past, Ariana had joined Frankie on the trip to South Africa, but could not make it this time. Frankie is now in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, helping to teach dance and theater to the children there.
Here are some of Frankie’s updates:
Diepsloot is a township home to 150,000 people who live in tiny shacks assembled from scrap metal with no running water or electricity.
I had lunch with a few 11 year old girls from the township & we talked about pop stars: Justin Bieber, Willow & Jaden were their favs!
Another FABU day at camp! Showed the kids the Firework video cause I’m teaching them a dance to it! They loved it & really got the meaning!

You can read more about the BSA trip on their blog.
What an awesome cause, don’t you think?
