Imagine our surprise when we found that Nickelodeon own Nigel Thornberry – the father in “The Wild Thornberrys” voiced by Tim Curry (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Muppet Treasure Island) – is trending on Twitter and Tumblr. It seems Nigel has become an internet meme all on his own, thanks to his wonderful voice. The meme began with the Katy Perry remix below.
Sir. Nigel Archibald Thornberry was born in Australia to his parents Radcliffe and Cordelia. He travels the world making wildlife documentaries with his family: Marianne, Debbie, Eliza, Donnie, and Darwin. He is always cheerful and excited, even in the face of danger, and, while he is in fact quite smart (having been offered a professorship at Oxford University), acts quite dimwitted. He is idolized by Tommy Pickles in the film “Rugrats Go Wild.”
