Nickelodeon Will Begin Airing “Winx Club”

Nickelodeon has picked up the US television rights to the series “Winx Club” and the movies based on the series. Nickelodeon has also secured all merchandising rights to the series in a number of other territories where it has received pay-TV rights, including Latin America, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Benelux.

Nickelodeon and producer Rainbow will co-develop and co-produce 52 new episodes of the series – split into two season – which will begin airing in 2012. However, previous episodes of the show will air on Nickelodeon in 2011, with four hour-long specials based on the first two seasons as well as episodes from the third and fourth seasons.
