Nickelodeon’s Jennette McCurdy will soon be releasing her new country album, and in a recent interview she revealed how she got inspired to become a singer.
Turns out Jennette was a fan of country music, but she never thought she’d become a country singer, that is until she heard Faith Hill’s song “Breathe” while browsing the arts and crafts isle at a drug store:
I was just taken aback. I felt like, if I can hear a country song and it hits me that strongly, maybe I could record country songs that hit other people that.
We can’t wait to hear Jennette’s new album! What about you?

I, too, can not wait for the release of Jennette McCurdy’s country music cd. I have heard several tracks, and I think she has an extraordinary voice. I heard that Faith could breathe life into most anything, and surely, Lord, it has. Amen.
Faith can move mountains. They say that about erosion, too. Hard to see how erosion could lead you to country music, though, unless you from coal country. In which case, “Paradise,” by John Prine, might rise from the bottom of you brain pan, and whistle its way into the world.
I tried to understand Jennette’s words, above, but something is missing. Whatever could it be? Words, maybe. More words might help. Maybe.
I learnt country music from a different Californian. Ry Cooder. His version of “Stand by Me” makes me think of something. If I had more words, I could, like Jennette, make myself clearer. Maybe. “Goodnight Irene” is nice too, if you like accordion in your country music. Some, perhaps many, do not. Goodnight, Irene.
