DreamWorks Animation’s “Shrek Forever After” movie is number 1 at the box office for the second week in a row, bringing in $43.3 million between Friday and Sunday. So far the movie has raised a domestic total of $133.1 million.

Coming in at number 2 and 3 respectively were “Sex and the City 2″ and “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.”

DreamWorks is hoping that the final installment of the franchise of movies is able to bring in more than the other Shrek movies did in theaters.

Head of Marketing at DreamWorks, Anne Globe, said:

We always knew with the fourth entry in particular that we were in some kind of unprecedented territory. There was really no game plan to follow.

Looks to us like they did a great job on the movie with so many people heading to the theater this holiday weekend to see it! Have you seen “Shrek Forever After” in theaters? What did you think?
